Join us as the Purchasing Support Services | Manager, Volunteer Services and help shape how we serve our community in the Houston-Galveston area. Catholic Charities is a family‑friendly nonprofit that embraces people of all faiths to help those in need.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the Volunteer Services program in line with Catholic Charities goals.
  • Communicate with volunteers via phone, mail, and email, maintain updated contact lists, and curate a regular newsletter.
  • Implement operational policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, Archdiocese, and grant‑funder regulations.
  • Coordinate evaluation and agency utilization of the Volunteer Services program, collaborate with the Director and Purchasing and Support Services for effective programming.
  • Develop and execute a strategic recruiting plan, oversee volunteer onboarding, and collaborate with Human Resources on background screening.
  • Design training and position descriptions for volunteer assignments.
  • Act as liaison between program departments and community organizations to promote volunteer engagement, manage opportunity postings on community platforms.
  • Support major community gift drives and coordinate national programs such as AmeriCorps.
  • Maintain the Volunteer Database, produce statistical reports, and manage the volunteer budget.
  • Prepare donation records, consult with departmental staff, and develop program manuals and handbooks.
  • Supervise Volunteer Services Coordinators, complete payroll, monitor performance, and provide training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services or related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of volunteer management experience.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.

  • Proficiency with volunteer databases (e.g., Galaxy Digital), Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
