The role you’ll contribute: The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Manager is an advocate for the nursing professional development team and manages the activities and personnel in the NPD department to provide the development of clinical excellence in assigned areas through active participation in education, role development, collaborative partnerships, research/ evidence-based practice/ quality/performance improvement, onboarding/orientation, and competency management. The NPD Manager functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions as they guide the department towards desired outcomes. The NPD Manager is responsible for, as a result, quality and safety are enhanced, and patient outcomes are improved.

The principal duties and job responsibilities are based on the Standards of the Association of Nursing Professional Development including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, coordination, health promotion and evaluation.
Leadership and Human Resources - Monitors performance of the staff and takes corrective action for improvement as appropriate.
Financial Management – Understands health care economics, public policy, and finance as it pertains to the delivery of patient care.
Performance Improvement – Demonstrates familiarity with the performance improvement model of the organization.
Critical Thinking/Technology – Utilizes critical thinking skills in the performance of their duties. Demonstrates and understanding of technology utilized in the organization.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Minimum two (2) years in Nursing Professional Development role or previous clinical leadership experience
Current, valid Florida State of Nursing license as a registered professional nurse
Preferred qualifications
Experience in acute care hospital setting
Master’s degree in nursing or related field
Clinical or Leadership certification
Advanced Life Support Provider Certification, per specialty
ANCC Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC)
