is hiring a

Public Works Operations Superintendent

to lead its

Neighborhood Operations Division (NOD)

— the front line of city services, responsible for

solid waste collection, street cleaning, right-of-way maintenance,

and more. We're looking for a proven, results-driven leader who thrives on operational excellence and public service impact.

Key Responsibilities

Direct operations in solid waste and right-of-way maintenance citywide

Manage budgets, staff scheduling, and long-range planning

Ensure regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, local ordinances)

Interface with community members, elected officials, and contractors

Supervise a diverse team of supervisors and field crews

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years

of supervisory experience in solid waste, sanitation, right-of-way, or related municipal services (OR 2 years with a bachelor’s in public administration, business, engineering, or related field)

Valid

Ohio Driver’s License

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and staff development

Compensation & Benefits

Salary:

$102,025 – $141,588 annually

Required Education and Experience Each applicant must have five years of work experience at a supervisory level in the field of solid waste disposal, right-of-way maintenance, municipal street sweeping, blight abatement, traffic maintenance, fleet services or a related field; or two years of experience plus a Bachelor's Degree in public administration, business administration, construction administration, economics, engineering, architecture, law, industrial management or a closely related field.

Other Requirements Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License. Must be an excellent communicator and team builder. Other specialized work site certifications may be required.
