We are actively seeking a
Water & Wastewater Lead Process Engineer
to join our team of dedicated professionals in
Pittsburgh, PA .
Responsibilities
Execute and lead the design process of water and wastewater treatment systems for both private and municipal clients
Develop process models, biological and chemical calculations, and the design of advanced conveyance and treatment equipment
Evaluate water and wastewater quality, develop conceptual designs, perform calculations, and create process design drawings
Develop process flow diagrams, material balances, and piping and instrumentation diagrams
Perform process calculations required for the proper operation of equipment, including chemical dosage rates; biological loading, clarifier operation, sludge generation, and wasting rates
Prepare procurement specifications and construction documents, develop equipment layouts, verify code and standard compliance, complete quality checks, review drawings, perform bid evaluations, and select materials and equipment
Coordinate engineering design with site and construction personnel and equipment suppliers as required
Coordinate process engineering activities with project management and other project team members
Provide guidance to supervisors on training and development plans for staff
Mentor others in areas of expertise to ensure advancement of technical skills and abilities
Develop and foster relationships with equipment sales representatives, treatment facility operators, regulators, and other industry insiders
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology with an environmental emphasis
Professional Engineering License in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six months of hire
Minimum 10 years’ project experience involving the design of water and wastewater treatment systems and processes
Proven experience to lead project design teams
Expertise in computer modeling of water and wastewater processes, hydraulic design software, and PADEP and EPA regulations
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems, etc.
Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, including overnight stays (Valid US Driver’s License is required)
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
