Job Title Director AOS and Performance Management

Job Summary This role is contingent upon obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals and the successful closing of a transaction that will establish a new Airbus Affiliate in Kinston, NC (the "Kinston Affiliate"). The Director of Airbus Operating System and Performance Management will be an employee of the Kinston Affiliate and will lead the Digital Operations team to continuously improve business performance using AOS principles based on lean tools.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of high‑skilled AOS Senior Experts at the site.

Manage people development, coaching, and mentoring.

Own the site performance governance process, ensuring the proper drumbeat of agreed Key Performance Indicators and tracking continuous improvement plans.

Set up and drive governance and steering at executive levels, securing an AOS deployment roadmap and consolidated strategy to support industrialization, ramp‑up, and future rates.

Define overall AOS architecture for a new production line from project phase to entry into service, ensuring consistency across Airbus and aligning a 3‑5 year vision.

Respond to questions about AOS philosophy, strategy, tactics, and MES benefits; promote AOS + MES advantages.

Improve business efficiency by advising plant stakeholders on business priorities and selecting the best AOS standards for new production lines.

Facilitate workshops on topics like Hoshin Kanri, macro‑VSM, kaizen, and other continuous improvement tools.

Run Gemba and shop‑floor exercises with the General Manager, coaching and influencing executive management.

Pilot the first AOS implementation in the new FAL following a “we do, you do” logic.

Lead industrial assessment and diagnosis, supporting AOS standards development, maturity assessment, and solution implementation.

Lead training strategy on AOS for all levels, providing on‑the‑job coaching and developing training programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Business (preferred).

10‑15 years experience in Lean/continuous improvement operations with tangible, sustainable results.

Solid knowledge of industrialization principles, manufacturing processes, and production management.

Experience in project management, including multi‑functional teams and financial aspects.

Demonstrated operational experience in implementing and optimizing industrial systems from conception to management of production processes.

Excellent communication skills, active listening, proactive problem‑solving and decision‑making.

Proven coaching and training competencies with leadership and assertiveness to influence and challenge the status quo.

Fluency in local language mandatory; English negotiation level required.

Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt or equivalent preferred.
