$81,500.00 – $169,500.00 per year. Overview
Salary in this role is dependent on experience and includes bonus eligibility. Location: This role is fully remote. Reporting to GB’s Senior Counsel - Contracts, the Senior Attorney, Legal Contracts will support GB’s contract function, manage commercial matters, and serve as a commercial generalist with strong organization, negotiation, and business sense. How You’ll Make An Impact
Actively participate in improving GB’s contracting function, involving its customer service center, external contractors, and internal employees. Manage transactional issues in GB operations by reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and interpreting a range of complex agreements (client and insurance carrier service agreements, vendor services agreements, consulting services agreements, etc.). Offer continuous and forward‑thinking strategic guidance concerning contractual and business risks. Act as a business and legal collaborator through technical expertise, strong business acumen, and adept relationship‑building across the organization, communicating with leadership at all levels. Ensure that all agreements accurately reflect GB’s business objectives and align with all laws and regulatory requirements. Demonstrate in‑depth understanding of business operations to assess risk and bring together cross‑functional teams for alignment. Work closely with management, other GB legal representatives, and the Gallagher corporate legal department on pivotal initiatives, analyze and implement projects, and collaborate with Gallagher legal representatives on data metrics, reporting, and automation. Identify and provide proactive guidance on other legal issues (e.g., IP, bankruptcy, regulatory matters). About You
Required J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in at least one state and in good standing with all state bars where admitted. If not admitted in Illinois, must successfully apply for in‑house counsel licensure with the State Bar of Illinois. Minimum 5+ years of legal practice experience. Ability to influence decisions with legal ramifications through reasoned analysis and business understanding. Skillful in legal research, analysis, and drafting. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to learn proprietary software systems. Occasional travel as needed. Strong ability to reason, negotiate, and solve problems. Preferred Prior experience working for an insurance company. Experience in a relevant in‑house position highly desirable. Behaviors Demonstrates ability to work within a team structure and maintain strong relationships with business partners. Ability to work with all levels of leadership through a responsive client‑oriented approach.
