Provides high quality comprehensive pharmaceutical care appropriate to the age of the patient which contributes to positive patient outcomes. Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building. Processes medication orders and prescriptions to provide medications and pharmaceutical supplies ordered by physicians or nurses for patients. Supervises the work of technicians to ensure that correct medications are provided for patients on time, and support staff is fully utilized to meet area needs. Provides pharmaceutical care to patients to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. Participates in the team approach to quality improvement to support the Pharmacy Department commitment to the philosophy and principles of Total Quality. Updates knowledge and skills of self and other health care professionals to maintain, improve and document competency. Documents activities to provide information needed to meet standards, regulations, laws and/or other administrative requirements. Participates in planning by establishing personal goals to support quality improvement efforts and contribute to the achievement of departmental objectives. Provides age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with Age/Development Specific Guidelines for the age groups served when participating in patient care. Position Highlights

Process medication orders and prescriptions from physicians and nurses. Supervise technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing, optimizing staff utilization. Deliver pharmaceutical care for optimal patient outcomes. Contribute to quality improvement efforts through teamwork. Continuously update and document skills and knowledge. Maintain documentation for compliance with standards and regulations. Set personal goals to support departmental objectives. Provide age-appropriate care following guidelines. Foster a cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork. What You Will Need

Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is required. Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required. Nice To Have (Not Required)

HospitalPharmacy Practice Residency or equivalent experience preferred. PGY1 residency completion preferred. One- or two-years' experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred for inpatient positions. Previous mentorship of pharmacy students is preferred. Where You Will Work
