Advanced Practice Provider (PD Days) – Critical Care APPs, New Brunswick. Department: Critical Care APPs RWJNB. Location: One Robert Wood Johnson Place, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. Per Diem, Day shift. Pay range: $57.69 - $81.73 per hour. Req #: 0000169109. Job Title: Advance Practice Provider. Location: Barnabas Health Medical Group. Department: Critical Care APPs RWJNB. Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. Compensation offered will depend on factors including education, skills and experience. RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a per diem Advanced Practice Provider in the MICU department at the New Brunswick campus. The APP is responsible for performing duties independently following established procedures and methods, referring questionable situations to physicians. The APP provides primary health care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve health status, and reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors. Provide primary health care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve patient health status. Perform duties independently following established procedures; refer questionable situations to physicians. Ensure reporting of safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors. Coordinate with multidisciplinary team; develop plans of care and complete reports to physicians and families. Document and maintain patient records according to facility and nursing standards; monitor patient progress and adjust care as needed. Examine patients, utilize findings and lab results to determine illness presence; prescribe treatments as indicated. Instruct patients and families on health maintenance, medications and treatment instructions. Assist physicians by recording progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders and transcribing orders. Assist with counseling and education; administer injections, immunizations, and medications; start IVs. Order and review laboratory and diagnostic procedures; review lab data and documents. Participate in protocol development and coordinate nursing and training programs in compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and Code of Conduct policies. Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits; collaborate with physicians to diagnose conditions as necessary. Qualifications
Current NJ APN/PA license required. NCCPA certification required. CDS required. DEA registration required. RN license required. BLS required; ACLS required. 2-5 years of critical care experience preferred. Scheduling
Per Diem Day shift Variable shifts including days, nights or evenings Essential Functions: Possess effective time management and critical care skills; adapt to a high-volume acute patient population. Perform procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement and chest tube placement (preferences noted). Administer injections, immunizations and oral medications; start IVs. Document patient progress, issue diagnostic orders and transcribe orders; assist with counseling and education functions. Billing for patient services per CMS and NJ State Board Regulations. Develop and implement care plans in coordination with the multidisciplinary team; document findings and reports to physicians and families. Maintain patient records per facility standards and collaborate with medical providers. Examine patients, document illness status and prescribe treatments; provide health and illness prevention guidance to patients and families. Issue prescriptions per federal and state regulations; order and review labs and diagnostic procedures. Participate in protocol development; ensure continuity of care between physician visits and appropriate documentation. Coordinate nursing and training programs to align with applicable policies (HIPAA, OSHA); ensure quality and adequacy of nursing practice. Perform wound suturing, incisions and drainage, laceration repairs; work with physicians to diagnose conditions as necessary.
