As a

Sales Engineer , you will estimate, quote, negotiate, and sell temperature controls jobs and change orders on negotiated, design‑build, plan and specification jobs in a timely, profitable, and responsive manner. This is a highly technical role that combines your technical skills, sales experience, and passion for creating solutions for new customers.

What You'll Do

Drive company growth by aggressively hunting and leveraging relationships to provide HVAC controls related solutions to customers; focused on new installation, construction, retrofit, and design/build opportunities.

Develop and expand long‑term customer relationships with building owners, consulting engineers, and construction contractors to ensure customer satisfaction.

Perform presentations, job‑walks, take‑offs, estimates, budgets & proposals to promote our products, services, and solutions.

Demonstrate an understanding of our industry including HVAC, controls, mechanical, and electrical along with an aptitude for information technology, software, and networking.

Own the complete sales cycle to include sourcing, proposal generation, bidding, closing, and follow‑up for customer satisfaction and retention.

Utilize sales tools effectively (CRM, estimating software, etc.) to plan and document progress and increase business opportunities.

Achieve annual sales and gross margin targets.

Actively participate in industry activities such as trade shows, conferences, factory trips, and manufacturer training.

Energetically take part in sales training and development programs (Sandler Selling Method).

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Experience, And Knowledge

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or similar).

2+ years of Building Automation and/or HVAC Controls sales experience, with demonstrable knowledge of DDC control theory and HVAC systems.

Eager hunter mentality and opportunity development – actively engaging in identifying new project opportunities and building customer relationships.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.

Excellent technical skills and creative problem‑solving abilities.

Good cross‑functional leadership and team‑working skills.

Competitive nature and strong desire to win.

Willingness to continue sales and engineering education.

Travel to customer job sites is required, which may include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms and exposure to variable environmental conditions.

Pre‑hire requirements include a drug test and a background check.
