Key Responsibilities
Apply creativity and strategic thinking to anticipate and resolve engineering challenges during construction while maintaining project objectives and requirements.
Design and specify medium‑ and low‑voltage power distribution systems for mining and heavy civil construction projects.
Perform fault‑current calculations, arc‑flash analyses, and coordination studies for power distribution systems.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, directing the efforts of engineers and designers.
Prepare and present project documentation, including calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
Perform equipment take‑offs from design drawings and coordinate procurement.
Collaborate with vendors to acquire and specify off‑the‑shelf components.
Review designs for fit, function, and accuracy to ensure compliance with standards.
Ensure final deliverables meet customer requirements and internal design standards.
Travel intermittently to project and customer sites to support field teams and contractors.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure within 2 years (preferred).
Experience with EasyPower or similar power system software (training available).
Additional beneficial skills: Autodesk Electrical or LT, Revit, Document Control, Hydraulic System Proficiency, Microsoft Office.
