Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Rochester, New York. You will provide rapid-response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department, managing urgent care plans, administering life‑saving treatments, and collaborating with a clinical team.
Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as an ER RN
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification
Preferred Qualifications
TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications
Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary The Emergency Room Registered Nurse delivers rapid‑response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting. This role involves assessing patient conditions, implementing urgent care plans, administering life‑saving treatments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high‑quality, efficient, patient‑centered care in critical situations.
Essential Work Functions
Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity.
Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved protocols.
Prepare equipment and aid physicians during treatments and examinations.
Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout their time in the department.
Observe and document patient conditions as required.
Take and monitor vital signs, addressing deviations to prevent complications.
Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, and protocols.
Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR.
Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, and other support staff.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Ability to read written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
Physical abilities – able to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
Interpersonal skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism.
Technical/motor skills – fine manipulation, assistance with procedures and equipment use.
Mental requirements – cope with frequent public contact and customer interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, work autonomously, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain concentration on detail.
Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication.
