Job Overview Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Per Diem/On-Call Cook to join our nutrition team. This person must have weekend availability. This position is per diem/on-call, non-exempt, and benefits-eligible. The pay range for this position is $20.31/hour - $30.46/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. Responsibilities Provides for the preparation and distribution of food to patients, visitors, and staff of Shriners Hospitals. Practices Serve Safe Sanitation at all times. Prepares catering functions and maintains food quality. Prepares patient meals in accordance with specific diets and at meal times. Ensures proper temperature of all food served according to state and federal guidelines. Maintains food temperature at acceptable levels according to policy and procedure manual. Prepares cafeteria meals according to the specific menu. Ensures cafeteria meals are ready on time and there is sufficient backup so that the café does not run out of food. Qualifications ServSafe Food Safety Certificate required. Experience: 2 years institutional cooking.
