You’ll review blueprints for critical pump components, plan your setups, and move massive workpieces with an overhead crane to your Vertical Turret Lathe, manual lathe, or Horizontal Boring Mill. From there, it’s all about precision: holding +/- 0.001″ on cases, impellers, wear‑rings, bearing housings, shafts, and covers that keep plants running reliably worldwide.

What You’ll Do

Set up and operate manual equipment: Vertical Turret Lathes, manual lathes, and Horizontal Boring Mills.

Machine large pump components to exacting tolerances of +/- 0.001″.

Perform planing and boring of horizontal pump casings (experience here is a plus).

Interpret complex blueprints and job travelers; verify dimensions and finishes.

Use solid math to compute angles, radii, bolt circles, and fits.

Safely rig and move heavy parts utilizing overhead cranes.

What You Bring

3+ years of manual machining experience required; 5+ years preferred.

Journeyman machinist status, machinist mate (military), or equivalent experience desired.

Background in pumps or rotating equipment strongly considered.

Track record of maintaining tight tolerances and high‑quality standards.

Schedule and Pay Structure

Job Type: Full‑time

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

8 hour shift, Monday–Friday

Overtime available; weekend availability when necessary

Shift premium

Supplemental pay: Differential pay and overtime pay
