Genetic Counselor
who can also serve as a Variant Scientist to support our innovative diagnostics in areas like cancer genomics, rare diseases, and more. With our in‑house laboratory expertise and commitment to precision medicine, this role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care. This hybrid position (mostly remote) is based in Saint Rose, Louisiana (near New Orleans Airport), allowing flexibility while collaborating with our team on cutting‑edge genetic testing. Key Responsibilities
Assist the Lab Director and Head Geneticist with research, variant interpretation, and analysis for a variety of NGS tests, applying ACMG guidelines and best practices. Act as the primary point of contact for physicians, providing expert guidance on genetic variant interpretation and counseling requests. *No patient counseling. You will interface directly and only with physicians* Collaborate on test result reviews, ensuring accurate and clinically relevant reporting. Contribute to quality assurance, compliance with CLIA/COLA/CAP standards, and ongoing program improvements. Support educational initiatives for healthcare providers on genetic testing outcomes. Qualifications
Master's degree in Genetic Counseling, Genetics, Genomics, or a related field required. Board certification as a Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) strongly preferred but not required; familiarity with ABMGG certifications or ACMG variant classification guidelines is a plus. Experience in variant interpretation for NGS‑based tests, ideally in clinical or laboratory settings. Strong communication skills for physician consultations and patient‑focused counseling. Knowledge of regulatory compliance in genetic diagnostics. Location & Work Arrangement
Mostly remote, with occasional on‑site presence in Saint Rose, Louisiana (conveniently located near New Orleans Airport). Flexibility for virtual collaboration across our US operations. Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $100,000, based on experience and qualifications.
