Summary Responsible for the administration of all benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and the 401(k) plan. This position also includes HRIS (Human Resource Information System) functions.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
Always maintains complete confidentiality.
Administers employee benefits programs such as 401k plan; medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans; disability and wellness programs.
Provides administrative processing and enters employee benefits premiums into the HRIS/Payroll systems. Provides TPA benefit information in a timely manner.
Manages benefits reconciliation process between deductions, payroll and TPA files.
Processes benefit enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims.
Handles employment verifications.
Handles benefits inquiries and complaints to ensure quick and courteous resolution. Maintain contact in person, and by phone or mail, with hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
Establishes and maintains a good rapport with Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort broker, carrier and third-party administrators for employee benefits.
Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files and updating of employee payroll records.
Provides administrative processing and monitors all leaves (FMLA, LOA, STD, LTD, etc.).
Assists in the coordination and administration of benefits open enrollment meetings and in conducting group employee orientation sessions. Provides in-depth education for individual employees on how their benefits work.
Provides instruction towards using provider’s services and benefits in a way that is most beneficial to the employee. Assists in the distribution of educational information relating to benefits.
Handles administrative duties for Casino Arizona’s 401K Plan.
Manages the tuition reimbursement program.
Assures company compliance with provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Assists providers and employees with unpaid claims and assists in the auditing and payment of provider statements.
Monitors TPA billing statements, audits benefits in TPA and HRIS systems, and ensures accuracy in all plans.
Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required college education strongly preferred; 3 to 5 years recent work experience in Human Resources, benefits administration and HRIS (e.g. UKG, UKG Pro, AS400, etc.) required; and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, human resources, benefits-related and HRIS experience.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent PC skills with a strong working knowledge of HRIS; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
Other Qualifications Must have knowledge and understanding of provider's contract language, contract administration, insurance policies, certificates, plan documents and summary plan descriptions. Must be able to explain employee benefits, 401K Plan, bills, payments and claims. Must possess excellent multitasking abilities and be able to meet performance guidelines.
Must have knowledge of all regulatory requirements (HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA and ERISA). Must be able to work a flexible schedule when requested and be able to establish priorities in a quickly changing environment. Must be able to work harmoniously with co-workers.
Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Bi-lingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
