GRASP
Position Summary
The Finance Director is responsible for the day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations of GRASP. This role ensures that our financial systems are accurate, compliant, and aligned with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP). Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Finance Director plays a key role in budgeting, reporting, grant management, and payroll, while contributing to the broader mission of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit standards.
Prepare monthly financial statements for the Board of Directors and for grant reporting.
Manage accounts payable/receivable, deposits, and bank reconciliations.
Oversee payroll processing and maintain personnel files.
Ensure compliance with federal and state nonprofit financial reporting requirements (e.g., IRS, SC Secretary of State).
Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Track and report on restricted grant spending; assist with financial components of grant applications and final reports.
Record and manage journal entries and fixed asset depreciation.
Maintain effective internal controls and organize financial documentation.
Assist with audit preparation and year‑end financial procedures.
Assist in yearly fundraising activities (Online Auction, Golf Tournament, Give Local).
Perform other administrative and financial tasks as needed in a collaborative, small‑team environment.
Education & Experience
Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management (Preferred).
Previous accounting or financial experience (nonprofit experience a plus).
Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
Skills & Abilities
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
Comfortable working in a mission‑driven, faith‑based environment.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
General Requirements
Alignment with GRASP’s mission and core values.
Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a small, dedicated team.
Maintain confidentiality and professional integrity in all financial matters.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $22.00/hour (commensurate with experience)
Vacation time after 90‑day probationary period.
Paid holidays.
Office closes for one week at Christmas.
Health Care Stipend: $50.00 per month provided.
Hiring Timeline Goal
Application Period: Now through mid‑October.
Interview Rounds: Two rounds, scheduled for mid‑to‑late October.
Target Start Date: Mid November 2025.
