Be instrumental in developing a culture that emphasizes high quality care and patient safety. Manage day-to-day operations and staff to meet objectives in key performance areas: patient care outcomes, fiscal management, licensure/accreditation, regulatory criteria, business development, and medical staff compliance. Organize day-to-day management through departmentalization, delegation, and alignment of responsibilities. Create and maintain a network of local constituency groups (government agencies, local businesses, affiliate health providers, community partners). Appraise leadership team performance and provide coaching or corrective action as appropriate under governing body direction. Ensure staff participation in in-service and continuing education for treatment across demographics. Recruit allied health professionals and psychiatrists to expand services. Work with corporate contracting on negotiations, contract compliance, revenue generation, and growth. Lead development of continuum of care including outpatient services and community-based programs. Serve as final authority for staff performance issues and performance improvement activities. Attend and chair periodic meetings with the governing body, medical staff, executive management, and departments. Adhere to all company policies and maintain integrity and professionalism. Stay current with national healthcare initiatives through organizations such as NAPHS and state associations. Maintain an effective survey readiness plan with auditing and corrective actions to ensure continuous accreditation and regulatory compliance. Ensure adherence to Corporate Compliance with timely follow-up of issues, staff training, and proactive auditing. Coordinate Governing Board reporting and quarterly calls; ensure prompt follow-up on patient safety issues. Support QAPI activities with resources, training, and requirements. Demonstrate leadership that enables long-range goals and annual objectives; stay attuned to marketplace forces. Manage organizational performance to budget and financial goals; practice financial acumen in budgeting and census management. Support the executive team to fulfill the mission and vision of the organization. Key Responsibilities
Enhance the organization’s reputation in the community regarding mental health, addiction, treatment, and recovery. Earn trust and credibility among facility leadership, staff, medical staff, and nursing leadership; be visible within the hospital. Ensure financial soundness and a positive operating margin. Increase occupancy, payor mix, and customer satisfaction. Shift culture toward innovation and revenue diversification, including virtual programs and services. Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, transparency, and collaboration to achieve high employee engagement and satisfaction among patients and staff. Foster a culture focused on performance improvement, quality, and service excellence to be a leader in addiction treatment. Develop and refine strategy to position the organization as a national voice for mental health, addiction, treatment, and recovery. Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Marketing, Clinical Discipline, or related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred. Knowledge and Work Experience
Minimum of three to five years in senior leadership or CEO role in behavioral health, acute care, or managed care. Thorough knowledge of facility administration and clinical operations; experience turning around organizations and directing crisis and inpatient behavioral health services. Ability to manage multiple tasks within inflexible timeframes; adaptable to priority changes. Strong communication, problem-solving, and confidentiality skills; professional interaction with all levels. Strong financial acumen and business development experience; history of developing high-performing teams and robust succession planning. Knowledge of state and federal laws governing mental health and addiction, Joint Commission standards, and compliance efforts in behavioral health facilities. Transformational leader with Hospital Administrator experience or equivalent leadership visibility; capable of leading crisis and inpatient services. English proficiency for instructions and communications. Personal Characteristics
