OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to lead custom development, module optimization, and asset management maturity efforts—especially around Software Asset Management (SAM) and future implementation of Hardware Asset Management (HAM). This role will play a critical part in building scalable workflows, collaborating with internal platform owners, and advancing an enterprise client’s ITSM capabilities. You will work with stakeholders to gather requirements, configure solutions, deliver best practices, and contribute to strategic planning around asset governance and CMDB-data alignment. This role supports data and module expansion in coordination with internal platform resources.
Location: Remote or Hybrid, Pacific Time overlap (If hybrid, Seattle, WA Location)
Duration: 12 months (high likelihood of extension)
Rate: $55/hr to $80/hr DOE
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customize ServiceNow modules including ITSM, CMDB, and SAM (and future HAM)
Develop business rules, workflows, scripts, and UI policies using JavaScript and Flow Designer
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, configure solutions, and deliver best practices
Contribute to strategic planning around asset governance and CMDB-data alignment
Support data and module expansion in coordination with internal platform resources
Build integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems such as HRIS, infrastructure systems, and inventory platforms
Develop and maintain CMDB structure ensuring accurate CI relationships and discovery patterns
Create reporting and dashboards to support asset management visibility and platform KPIs
Design custom workflows and automations to support asset lifecycle management and compliance tracking
Provide technical documentation including specifications, user guides, and knowledge articles
Support software asset governance initiatives including license compliance and entitlement tracking
Conduct code reviews and promote ServiceNow development best practices
QUALIFICATIONS Required:
5+ years of ServiceNow development in enterprise environments
Proven experience with SAM (ServiceNow’s Software Asset Management module)
Familiarity with HAM and asset lifecycle best practices
Strong understanding of CMDB data structures and CI relationships
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required
Working knowledge of ITIL v3 or v4 processes
Expertise in scripting with JavaScript and GlideScript
Experience with Flow Designer and workflow configuration
Experience integrating ServiceNow with other enterprise systems
Understanding of CI relationships, lifecycle states, and discovery integration
Proficiency with ServiceNow development tools including Studio and Update Sets
Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and web services integration
Preferred:
ServiceNow Developer/Implementation certifications (CAD, CIS-ITAM, CIS-SAM)
Experience with Hardware Asset Management implementation
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
Experience with MID Server configuration and management
Experience supporting system integrations during mergers or acquisitions
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
ITIL Foundation certification
