Under the general direction of the Value Stream Manager, the CNC Programmer supports the production of machined/fabricated components by writing CNC programs, creating work holding and fixturing, selecting tooling, and developing necessary documentation to produce production components. Essential Job Functions

Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces. Develop sequence of operations and machining processes to efficiently use production resources and equipment. Design and fabricate work holding and part fixturing required to properly secure and align material for machining. Complete manufacturing process through set up and 1‑piece process. Define, calculate, and set machine parameters for cutting speed, feed, depth, angle, tool path, or additional machine commands. Retrieve, input, and edit CNC code and other computerized machine control media. Participate in machining process validation activities to ensure manufacturing inputs meet requirements. Create manufacturing production aid documents such as machine setup and tooling sheets, work instructions, and procedures. Observe machine operation and troubleshoot to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls or CNC program as required. Participate in continuous improvement activities to reduce cycle time, improve production methods, and improve equipment performance and quality of product. Adhere to all factory safety procedures, guidelines, and clean work environment standards. Qualifications

4–6 years related experience and/or training in CNC operation, working knowledge of programming using Mastercam or related CAD/CAM software; knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Creo/Pro‑E, Solidworks, or equivalent CAD software and/or combination of education and experience. Trade school/training certificate preferred. Considered a seasoned professional that needs little direction or guidance. Education & Experience

Vocational, High School diploma, or GED. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; a team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization with high ethical standards and a positive professional image. Job Skills

Ability to program various machining and turning centers. Ability to use inspection tools as required. Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Writing skills required to complete documents and forms. Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete tasks and/ or special projects. Read and understand blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Measure accurately using a ruler or tape measure. Understand and experience in Lean manufacturing environment; participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams. Proficient in MS Office. Ability to be flexible and function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing and ambiguous environment. Physical Demands

Regularly use hands, fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and/or hear. Frequently sit; occasionally stand and walk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment
