Human Resource Information Systems and Analytics Manager
This role reports to the Director of Human Resources within the Chicago Cubs organization and leads the optimization of the HRIS platform Workday. The position focuses on data integrity, reporting, and system enhancements to support HR and payroll business needs.
Base Pay Range $120,000.00/yr – $150,000.00/yr
Position Overview As the sole member of the HRIS team, you will balance day‑to‑day administrative support with long‑term strategy execution. You will work closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT to deliver efficient, reliable solutions that meet legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
The Day‑to‑Day
Manage system solutions for HR and Payroll teams, business partners, and technical teams to provide ongoing Workday support and project management.
Gather and define requirements, design and implement long‑term solutions, and ensure user adoption.
Analyze, implement, and improve HR systems; identify opportunities for process improvements and enforce rigorous testing processes.
Use analytics, data mining, and machine learning to improve the employee experience and develop intervention methodologies.
Create and maintain standard and custom reports and dashboards that meet reporting requirements across all levels.
Configure and implement system upgrades, lead testing and data validation, and align overall system performance with organizational objectives.
Leverage technology to improve associate experience, productivity, and build an HRIS community.
Maintain system security setups, create new roles, and manage user access based on security rights.
Ensure documentation is complete, maintain audit readiness, and run periodic audits of system setups and vendor integrations.
Communicate complex findings and solutions clearly to stakeholders with varying technical knowledge.
Manage summary overviews for Workday releases and new system features, communicating changes and benefits to end users.
Develop knowledge transfer strategies to empower internal SMEs in system administration and configuration.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3–5 years in Workday configuration (HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Absence, Learning, or Time Tracking).
Proven project management experience implementing system changes using established methodologies.
Track record of improving processes, workflows, and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Strong ability to translate organizational requirements into system specifications.
Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
Positive relationship builder with a collaborative mindset; must work from the office at least 75% of the time.
