Overview

Occupational Therapist II (Certified Hand Specialist) – Inpatient position within Saint Francis/St Mary’s hospitals Rehabilitation Services department. Reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides direct and indirect patient care services. Primarily serves adult and geriatric patients from diverse backgrounds; with specific pediatric competencies and clinical experience may also work with infants, children and/or adolescents. This position is full time at UCSF Health in San Francisco, CA. $5,000 Sign-On Bonus Available for candidates with Acute Care experience

Plan and administer a full range of occupational therapy services for patients with various physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations. Conduct patient evaluations using physical, cognitive, visual/perceptual, psychosocial, and developmental assessments; establish therapeutic intervention goals and develop intervention programs; implement plans using occupational therapy techniques. Demonstrate practice competence in managing patients of varying clinical acuity and complexity; seek mentoring for novel presentations or areas outside current experience. Maintain applicable patient records related to the delivery of care; demonstrate organized work habits and effective time management. Supervise Occupational Therapy Students, Occupational Therapy Doctoral Fellows, and Rehabilitation Aides as appropriate. Participate in regular professional and clinical development activities (40 hours or more per year). Participate in and may lead compliance, quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives within the department, local care setting, and organization. Qualifications

Certification in Hand Specialty MS or MA degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program Minimum one year of licensed practice experience Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing Ability to recognize signs of distress Basic computer skills including proficiency with Epic electronic medical record Strong interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program Prior experience providing patient care in acute care hospital and acute rehab/IRF settings Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team Licensure/Certification

Possession of, or proven eligibility for, licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the California Board AHA BLS certification About UCSF Health
