Overview A leading provider of live event services is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Associate to join their team. This full‑time role supports both payroll and human resources functions in a 50/50 split, offering a dynamic opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of employee operations.
Key Responsibilities
Process biweekly and weekly payroll using Paychex Flex (cloud-based)
Maintain accurate employee records (hires, terms, changes)
Post payroll entries to the general ledger
Generate ad hoc reports (401(k) census, headcount, etc.)
Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation
Manage I‑9 forms and employee file setup
Ensure ACA compliance and assist with 1095‑C distribution
Coordinate mandatory state training (e.g., sexual harassment prevention)
Draft job descriptions and support recruitment efforts
Respond to employee benefit inquiries
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of payroll processing experience using Paychex Flex
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables
Experience with GL postings in payroll
Familiarity with onboarding, benefits, or job description creation
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems
Solid understanding of HR practices and employment law
Strong communication and organizational skills
High attention to detail and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
PHR or SHRM‑CP certification
Experience working with unionized employees
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 100% onsite in Hicksville, NY
Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM or 10 AM – 6 PM (some flexibility available)
