Base pay range
$70,380.00/yr - $125,613.00/yr
As the
Associate Category Manager
with the
Services Procurement
team, you’ll develop category strategy with a long-term commercial plan. Responsibilities include strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier and stakeholder relationship management across a subset of the Corporate Services category. Subcategories include, but are not limited to, Market Research, Meetings & Events, Communication, Public Relations, Travel, and other Corporate Services. You’ll aim to reduce total cost of ownership by applying world-class negotiation and sourcing strategies, tools, processes, and risk mitigation. You’ll routinely work with senior-level stakeholders and strategic suppliers.
What You’ll Do
Lead category management and strategic sourcing activities, including negotiations, RFx, spend reporting/analysis, industry research, and opportunity identification.
Develop, present, and maintain category strategies for assigned areas of spend to identify opportunities and determine optimal sourcing methodologies.
Create and nurture stakeholder relationships to ensure ongoing partnership and engagement.
Leverage expertise, tools, policies, and relationships to educate and influence internal clients on sourcing recommendations to achieve optimal results.
Manage supplier relationships for effective information exchange and engagement value for Best Buy.
Partner with sourcing & procurement operations teams to ensure optimal executional results.
Basic qualifications
3+ years of experience in procurement, marketing, sales, finance, or contracting (legal work)
Experience mentoring, cross-functional team management, or influencing without authority
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of experience in management or influencing without authority
Expertise in procurement Source to Pay tools and practices (e.g., supplier diversity programs, TCO calculation)
Demonstrated negotiation, analytical, planning, and execution skills
Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to complete complex spend or data analysis and presentations
Strong organization, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
