Gilbane is seeking a VDC Engineer I to support constructability and coordination tasks on a project by using technology and processes. This role will sit in the office and on job sites as determined by project needs.

Responsibilities

Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges

Combines all building discipline models into 3D design software coordination model

Reviews coordination models for constructability issues utilizing the software's clash detection capabilities

Assigns responsible party(s) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models

Communicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentation

Utilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverables

Participates in Business Unit (BU) office and department activities including orientation programs, training sessions, and peer group meetings

Supports 1 VDC deliverable under supervision

Qualifications Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field

0-1 years of VDC Coordination experience

Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong problem‑solving skills

Strong time‑management and analytical skills

Knowledge and functional use of BIM design software

Basic understanding of construction documentation

Strong interest in design concepts and integrated building components and systems

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
