This role supports the design and execution of custom automation equipment for manufacturing. You will manage full mechanical scopes within projects, collaborate across robotics, vision, and controls teams, and ensure performance and manufacturability of equipment. Based in Brooklyn Park, MN with occasional travel (10‑20%). Key Responsibilities

Initiate and complete technical activities leading to improved automation processes, tooling, and equipment designs. Analyze and solve problems using sound engineering principles for complex automation challenges. Interface with quality, manufacturing, and automation development teams to integrate new products and systems into production. Maintain and approve mechanical documentation, device routers, and bills of material for automation and manufacturing projects. Monitor equipment performance, identify and correct issues producing non‑conforming products or low yields. Design and coordinate fabrication and implementation of automation tooling, fixtures, and gauging to support production and system validation. Provide hands‑on debug and integration support during equipment build and startup. Assist with part and system cost estimation during concept and quoting phases. Mentor Engineers I and II on design standards, documentation, and integration practices. Support compliance with ISO 13485 and medical‑device regulatory requirements. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline. 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or automation‑equipment design, including state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing technology and cost‑reduction initiatives. Experience in an ISO 13485/GMP regulated environment. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). Hands‑on problem‑solving mindset; ability to debug equipment and support integration on the production floor. Strong collaboration, communication, and cross‑functional coordination skills. Detail‑oriented; checks own work and maintains accurate records. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet short deadlines in a dynamic environment. Desirable Criteria
