Position Overview This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single‑configuration heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle. As part of a passionate multidisciplinary team, you will help define performance upgrades and production changes, working with the Upper Stage Program Leader to deliver project management across cost, schedule, technical design, risk, certification, and change management.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deploy end‑to‑end AI/ML pipelines to support scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, scope control, and agile program management.
Manage data sources, collection, preprocessing, labeling, and data outputs.
Develop LLM‑integrated systems with memory and retrieval‑augmented generation capabilities.
Integrate AI models into production environments, optimizing performance and implementing CI/CD automation.
Coordinate production engineering changes, integration schedules, and vehicle production plans.
Resolve non‑conformances across engineering, production, supply chain, and design to ensure value engineering decisions.
Work directly with supply chain to fulfill purchase requests and develop associated metrics.
Drive multi‑functional studies to mitigate risks threatening program cost and schedule.
Develop strategic roadmaps for certification and qualification of engineering designs.
Produce content for Blue Origin’s Weekly Business Review and Program Management Review.
Collect and coordinate certification documentation across subsystem engineers and technical project managers.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field.
10+ years of industry experience in launch system engineering development or operations.
Strong AI/ML foundation, software engineering skills, or hands‑on experience with LLMs and AI agent frameworks.
Experience leading system‑level technical trade studies.
Demonstrated program/project management experience.
Passion for Blue Origin’s mission to enable millions of people living and working in space.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of industry experience in launch system engineering development or operations.
Master’s degree in engineering and/or business.
Experience across fluids, mechanical, and structures engineering domains.
Ability to work with partially defined requirements and changing criteria.
Program Management Professional certification or related degree program.
Compensation CO applicants: $129,611.00 – $181,454.70 per year. WA applicants: $140,959.00 – $197,342.25 per year.
Background Check & Eligibility
Required for all positions: Blue’s Standard Background Check.
Required for certain job profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if needed for military installation access.
Drivers operating commercial motor vehicles with GVWR ≥ 10,001 lbs or transporting hazardous materials may be subject to additional DOT and federal regulations.
