Financial Consultant/Budget Analyst Financial Consultant and Business Analyst - Water Utility Job Description
The Data Analyst will have at least 10+ years of experience working in the industry as Data and Business analyst. (Specific preference will be given to individuals working in the Water Utility Industry with an MBA or equivalent graduate degree)
The incumbent will work in the Department of Water Operations performing various tasks to include benchmarking and providing water utility analysis.
Data collection will include but not limited to collecting, processing and analyzing data to help drive business decisions and work closely with the business operations analyst to interpret complex data from various sources.
Analysis will include identifying industry trends and presenting and identifying best practices in managing specific business problems.
Generate reports and identify key indicators that could impact budget.
Ensuring data integrity and accuracy as well as presenting reports to and reconciling data requested by internal audit.
Other responsibilities include working in Oracle, preparing budget documents, reporting department metrics, providing cost estimates and supporting operating and capital funding requests.
In addition, the incumbent will make recommendations to improve efficiency and ensure that the department's goals and objectives align with the Authority's Strategic Initiatives.
Other essential functions will include but are not limited to:
Monitoring major contracts to ensure payment and contract continuity
Training and analyzing overtime data for field staff
Providing monthly department reports
Working with the meter operations team to help manage the operating and capital equipment expenditures
Qualifications
The Data Analyst will have at least
