The Georgia Department of Labor is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst with a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) best practices. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of hands‑on experience in software testing, proven knowledge of testing methodologies, and the ability to manage defects, develop QA metrics, and ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Candidates must have HP/Mercury Quality Center experience and be proficient in Jira and Xray for test management, defect tracking, and reporting. Experience with mainframe programming, scripting, or test automation is a plus, as well as testing web applications in AWS.
The QA Analyst will work closely with technical and business teams, facilitate meetings, and communicate testing progress and issues clearly.
Responsibilities
Running daily defect triage meetings and maintaining defect logs
Managing and reporting on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) progress and schedules
Driving interface and integration testing across systems
Developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases for large, complex systems
Creating QA metrics and reports to track testing outcomes and quality trends
Identifying gaps in test coverage and ensuring alignment with business requirements
Supporting conflict resolution and ensuring quality standards are met
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years in software testing and QA processes
Strong knowledge of SDLC and SQA concepts
Hands‑on experience with HP/Mercury Quality Center, Jira, and Xray
Experience testing web applications in AWS
Ability to manage UAT, defect triage, and test reporting independently
Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Preferred: Experience with mainframe environments, scripting, or test automation.
