Business Development Manager, Light Industrial Construction Graycor seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to grow market share in the Midwest and nationally. The role focuses on sales, business development, and marketing, collaborating with senior leadership across multiple offices to generate new and repeat business.

Responsibilities

Lead business development efforts in core markets such as manufacturing, energy, and non-ferrous metals, engaging potential and existing clients and influencing partners.

Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate the annual business development plan, including SWOT analysis, market trends, target clients, resources, and budget.

Conduct market research to collect client and prospect information and identify opportunities.

Develop strategies to acquire new clients and expand opportunities with existing accounts.

Create and oversee client account management plans, including annual updates.

Maintain key accounts and implement account management processes across business groups.

Provide professional representation and foster positive client and internal communications.

Offer creative, thorough solutions to client challenges.

Lead responses for construction procurement opportunities, including qualifications, proposals, and interviews.

Build and maintain a broad network via industry committees and associations.

Engage appropriate technical experts for client meetings as needed.

Assist the General Manager in identifying optimal project opportunities to achieve growth objectives.

Initiate new client contacts, organize qualification data, and support proposal efforts.

Coordinate development of proposals, presentations, and marketing materials; coach project teams for effective client presentations.

Collaborate with Operations to devise strategies for winning project opportunities.

Maintain open and timely communication with general managers, operations managers, and estimating managers.

Administer Business Development Unit policies, procedures, and organizational structure within company guidelines.

Work with managers to ensure proper use of the CRM system for tracking client contacts and opportunities.

Partner with corporate marketing to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns.

Position Requirements

Undergraduate degree required; degree in engineering, construction management, or industrial technology is a plus.

Deep understanding of construction processes, project delivery methods (design-build, EPC, etc.), estimating, scheduling, and risk management.

Demonstrated ability to translate technical expertise into client solutions.

Familiarity with industrial, advanced manufacturing, metals, energy, and mission-critical sectors.

Proven sales and business development track record, closing new business and expanding existing client relationships.

Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences, including strong presentation and facilitation abilities.

Strong relationship-building with prospective clients and professionalism in networking.

Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Analytical orientation to monitor market trends and take appropriate action to pursue new business.

Detail-oriented, time-conscious, and efficient work habits.

Proficient in MS Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM (Salesforce.com).

Willingness to travel extensively regionally and domestically as needed.
