NURSE PRACTITIONER
Location: Bronx, New York, NY Department: OBGYN – Administration Shift: Day (Hours Vary) We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care within the Montefiore Health System. The role reports to the Medical Division Director and Nursing Leadership and is integral to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Generalist Division clinical team. Responsibilities
Perform and record complete physical examinations and gynecologic procedures according to clinical standards. Obtain and document comprehensive health histories. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures and tests within scope of privileging. Collaborate with physicians and other health‑care providers to coordinate patient care, evaluate plans of care, and modify them based on patient progress towards health goals. Provide general gynecologic care including annual well‑woman exams, Pap smears, contraceptive counseling, and family‑planning duties. Deliver inpatient low‑risk obstetric evaluations, post‑partum management, and same‑day gynecologic consultations. Provide disability/return‑to‑work clearance and other duties as assigned by department leadership. Qualifications
Master’s degree or post‑master’s certificate in nurse practitioner specialty, or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted by the NY State Education Department. Active NYS RN license and current registration or valid permit to practice as an RN. Current NYS Nurse Practitioner certification and registration. National certification in a nurse practitioner specialty (e.g., ANCC or AANP) required. 2–5 years of satisfactory Registered Professional Nurse experience. Preferred experience in OB‑GYN and Women’s Health, including prenatal non‑stress testing. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of obstetric care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
