Indiana University Health is seeking an individual who embodies these values to join our Indianapolis Metro Region leadership team in the role of Vice President - Chief Medical Officer, Adult Academic Health Center.

The Vice President-Chief Medical Officer for the Adult Academic Health Center serves as a member of the regional senior executive team and facilitates the development and implementation of plans, systems, processes, and personnel designed to ensure that the mission and core values are put into practice at Methodist and University Hospitals in downtown Indianapolis to attain the organization's strategic vision.

Responsibilities

Strengthening areas in need of improvement, ensuring performance against goals, and strategic goal attainment.

Fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between the medical staff and leadership with the expectation of professionalism and quality.

Ensuring all policies, procedures, and outcomes of assigned areas ensure quality patient care, effective medical staff relations, and excellent service to patients.

Advocating to members of the community and promoting the public health objectives of IU Health.

Serves as a champion of clinical excellence while bringing a strategic healthcare executive perspective to foster effective collaboration across all levels of the organization working in partnership with the AAHC COO and CNO and other metro executives.

Participating in strategic planning processes to establish and attain system and organizational goals.

Partnering with IU Health's System Chief Quality and Safety Officer and System Chief Health Impact Officer to lead and implement initiatives around improving quality, safety, and developing performance improvement strategies that address health care disparities.

Candidate Qualifications Education and Experience

Requires a Medical Degree, is board certified, preferably with active practice, and is licensed to practice in the state of Indiana. Must meet all criteria for membership of medical staff.

Requires course work in the areas of Health Administration, Health Financing, Insurance, and/or Personnel Management.

Requires 10 years of experience as a practicing physician with at least 5 years of leadership experience

Requires experience in quality and patient safety, strategic planning, and community relations.

Requires experience with the efficiencies of medical practices.

Requires experience leading quality-improvement initiatives.

Experience with medical staff affairs preferred.

Requires knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines.
