Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Adult Academic Health Center leadership team in the role of Vice President, Project Planning and Operations.
The Vice President of Project Planning and Operations, Design and Construction, is responsible for leading programming, operational planning, and targeted improvement initiatives for the new IU Health Medical Center Campus. This role ensures the successful translation of the project vision, guiding principles, and design into actionable plans, aligning local, regional, and system stakeholders to achieve sustained operational excellence in the new facilities.
Strategic Leadership
Drive transformation and deliver key project milestones on time and within budget, advancing IU Health's vision and strategy.
Partner with AAHC leadership in planning and executing the new medical center development.
Operational Planning & Execution
Lead multi-disciplinary project teams to implement change and achieve the vision of the Academic Medical Center.
Serve as the primary liaison between AAHC Operations, Design and Construction, system functions (IIS, Supply Chain, etc.), and the Executive Steering Team.
Advocate for AAHC leadership and functional users throughout project planning and delivery.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Develop and implement best-practice tools and processes for effective project planning and execution.
Establish key project delivery metrics and performance indicators, including operating expense per square foot, operational KPIs and volume transfer targets.
Utilize change management methodologies to maximize operational readiness and ensure successful implementation.
Leadership & Communication
Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities in inspiring teams, problem‑solving, communicating effectively, and executing plans.
Champion organizational vision and foster collaboration across all levels of the organization.
Key Relationships Reports to: President - Academic Health Center & Indianapolis Metro Region
Candidate Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
Requires 10+ years of relevant experience.
Requires experience in Hospital Operations, Operational Planning, Process Improvement and Capital Project Planning/Activation.
Requires experience managing multiple complex projects involving multiple customers.
Requires experience preparing and adhering to Service Level Agreements with stakeholders/customers.
Requires knowledge of state and federal laws relative to assigned area.
