Department: SOM KC Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Position title: Post Doctoral Fellow - Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Job Description Summary The Postdoctoral Fellow in the Guggenmos Lab within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will advance neuroscience research through experimental and analytical work. Responsible for conducting neurophysiology experiments, performing large-scale analysis of neural datasets, and contributing to scientific publications. The Fellow will assist with animal care in support of ongoing studies and collaborate with team members to drive high-quality research.

Job Duties

Research Overview: Design and conduct experiments and interpret data under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator (PI).

Work independently and collaboratively on research projects.

Assist with development of grant proposals and scientific manuscripts.

Maintain a current Laboratory Notebook, documenting all calculations, work, experiments, and pertinent research information.

Conduct neurophysiology experiments.

Perform large dataset analysis of neural data.

Assist with lab animal care.

Assist with publishing scientific journal articles.

Expectations The Postdoc will complete research projects under the guidance of the faculty mentor, record and interpret results, prepare publication-quality manuscripts with figures and tables, and publish in peer-reviewed literature.

Read literature, develop ideas, and integrate information into project design/interpretation.

Disseminate studies by discussing experimental design and results with PI, faculty mentor, and lab members.

Present aims and findings at department seminars and meetings; first-author abstracts, manuscripts, and posters.

Compliance Attend and maintain compliance on orientation and training sessions, follow IACUC and biosafety protocols, and attend departmental seminars and lab meetings.

Required Qualifications Education:

PhD in Bioengineering or Neuroscience or related field.

Work Experience:

Two years of experience in Neuroscience.

Preferred Qualifications Work Experience:

Four years of experience in Neuroscience.
