Pay: $2,430/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Houston, Texas. This role is based at a leading cardiovascular facility. The RN will assist with a wide range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care in a collaborative and fast-paced procedural setting.
The ideal candidate has strong Cath Lab experience, proficiency with Philips and Siemens fluoroscopy equipment, and excellent critical thinking and teamwork skills. The RN will work in a two-room cardiac catheterization lab and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and continuous patient care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
Assist physicians with left and right heart catheterizations, pacemaker/ICD placements, Watchman procedures, vascular interventions, and electrophysiology (EP) ablations.
Monitor patients’ hemodynamic status, interpret cardiac rhythms, and document all aspects of patient care in MERGE Hemo and Meditech EMR systems.
Prepare patients for procedures, administer IV medications and moderate sedation, and maintain a sterile environment.
Circulate and scrub for interventional and EP procedures as part of a three-person procedural team.
Ensure adherence to procedural safety protocols, including universal precautions, time-outs, and moderate sedation guidelines.
Collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Float as needed to the Pre/Post Cath Department to assist with patient preparation and recovery.
Participate in on-call rotation — one full weekend plus two weekday shifts per four-week schedule.
Qualifications
Active Texas RN license or Compact State RN license (required).
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience (required).
Certifications: BLS and ACLS (required).
Electrophysiology (EP) experience preferred.
Experience with Philips and Siemens fluoroscopy equipment and MERGE Hemo/Meditech EMR systems (preferred).
Strong clinical judgment, multitasking ability, and effective communication skills.
Ability to function efficiently in high-acuity, team-based procedural environments.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
