Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Tele) Travel Position
Location: Alexandria, LA Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3×12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Pay: $2,217.60/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Position Summary ATC Healthcare is seeking a skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Alexandria, Louisiana. The Telemetry RN will provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients requiring cardiac and continuous telemetry monitoring in a non-Stepdown acute care unit.
The ideal candidate demonstrates sound clinical judgment, strong rhythm interpretation skills, and the ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based care for patients with cardiac or medical conditions. This position offers the opportunity for potential temp-to-perm conversion and a supportive, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients requiring cardiac and telemetry monitoring.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following established nursing standards and physician orders.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely, monitoring patient response and potential side effects.
Interpret telemetry rhythms accurately and report changes in patient condition promptly.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
Educate patients and families regarding cardiac health, medications, and discharge instructions.
Demonstrate leadership through delegation, prioritization, and teamwork within the clinical setting.
Work every other weekend as scheduled; no on-call responsibilities.
Participate in hospital orientation, skills validation, and annual competency programs as required.
Qualifications
Active Louisiana RN license or Compact State RN license (required).
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 1 year of recent Telemetry or Med‑Surg RN experience (required).
Epic EMR or equivalent charting experience preferred.
Required Certifications (AHA only):
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
Ability to manage a 1:5–6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio while maintaining quality standards of care.
Excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills.
Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed).
Recent tuberculosis (TB) test required.
