Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Tele) Travel Position
Location: Saint Louis, MO Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3×12 Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) Pay: $2,088/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Saint Louis, Missouri. This position is located in a 233-bed acute care hospital specializing in the care of cardiac and telemetry patients. The RN will provide continuous cardiac monitoring and comprehensive nursing care for adults with post-cardiac procedures, heart failure, or rhythm abnormalities.
The role requires strong assessment skills, the ability to interpret telemetry rhythms, and proficiency with cardiac drips (no titration). Nurses must also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and deliver safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to Telemetry/Step-Down patients with cardiac and post-procedure conditions.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac medications and drips (no titration).
Care for patients with TAVR, post-cardiac cath, post-angiogram, chest tubes, and related diagnoses.
Perform IV therapy, line management (PICC, peripheral, central), wound care, and medication administration.
Maintain and troubleshoot telemetry equipment; document rhythm changes accurately in Epic EMR.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, escalating care as appropriate.
Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and social services to ensure continuity of care.
Float within the hospital or affiliated facilities as needed, within the RN’s scope of practice.
Work every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per 6-week period) and holidays as scheduled.
Uphold infection control and patient safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
Active Missouri RN license or Compact State RN license (required at submission; pending accepted).
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience (required).
Epic EMR experience required.
Required Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support, AHA)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Preferred Certifications:
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, AHA)
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
Must demonstrate proficiency in:
Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Cardiac medication management and dysrhythmia recognition
Central and PICC line care, post-cardiac cath care, and IV therapy
COVID-19 vaccine not required for this assignment.
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only).
Recent tuberculosis (TB) test required.
Locals not accepted — candidates must reside 75+ miles from the facility.
No on-call required.
RTO restrictions: Maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week.
