Job Summary
The
Assistant Construction Manager
supports the execution of
Engineer Procure Construct (EPC)
and construction management projects. Reporting to the Construction Project Manager, this role ensures adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule while managing field activities, documentation, subcontractors, and client relationships across a diverse range of industries including:
Transmission & Distribution Aviation Commercial Buildings Energy (Oil & Gas, Power Generation) Process & Manufacturing Water & Wastewater
Key Responsibilities
Support project safety, quality, cost control, contracts, procurement, and scheduling. Assist in risk management, project planning, and execution strategies (QA, Safety, Staffing, Procurement, etc.). Coordinate permits, subcontractor onboarding, and RFP preparation. Manage and monitor construction site mobilization and demobilization. Track and report project progress, cost, and risk to internal and external stakeholders. Support project documentation, compliance, and audits. Facilitate equipment and material management processes. Work with site teams to ensure subcontractor compliance with safety, quality, and contract terms. Assist in turnover documentation, close-out activities, and warranty processes. Help onboard craft/field supervision and support training & classification tracking. Analyze labor costs, equipment needs and staffing to optimize performance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree
in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
OR
equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of
3 years of construction experience , preferably on large-scale EPC or utility-related projects. Proven
T&D (Transmission & Distribution)
project experience. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access). Preferred experience with project management tools (e.g., scheduling, document control, cost systems). Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Preferred Experience
Field/site experience in
aviation, commercial, energy, government, industrial, manufacturing, process, T&D, transportation, or water sectors . Familiarity with labor laws, union agreements, craft staffing, and training compliance.
Other Details
Position may require travel to project sites. Must adhere to company safety programs and corporate standards. Additional duties may be assigned as required by project scope or management.
