Job Summary

Join Caterpillar's fastest-growing division in Griffin, GA as a

Material Handler II

where you'll play a key role in supporting logistics operations that keep our production running smoothly. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for moving, storing, and preparing materials using various equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency. What You Will Do

Cross-train in shipping, receiving, and material handling/storage.

Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved.

Load and unload materials by hand onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.

Secure materials in vehicles using strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage during transit.

Transport materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts to designated areas.

Count, weigh, and record quantities of materials handled on daily production sheets.

Maintain a clean and organized work area by consolidating materials and following 5S procedures.

Properly dispose of scrap materials.

Assemble crates for material containment.

Perform pre-shift safety checks on equipment and handling tools.

Promote and maintain a

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Have:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Minimum of 2 months' experience in a machining, manufacturing, or warehouse environment or industry certification

Ability to work well with others

Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English

General knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint

Ability to adhere to safety procedures

What Will Put You Ahead:

Experience working with internal warehouse management systems (WMS)

Previous experience and/or certification in operating forklifts, tugger, and/or other power equipment

Previous experience working in a logistics environment supporting assembly of products

Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work

Physical Requirements:

The ability to occasionally lift parts up to 35 lbs. individually or up to 70 lbs. with a team lift

The ability to bend, reach, and squat while performing tasks

The ability to wear required personal protective equipment for assigned tasks

The ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures

The ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods while performing tasks

Summary Pay Range:

$19.31 - $24.42
