Job Summary Promotes pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. Performs all duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by Texas Childrens Hospital, ensuring care is developmentally appropriate for patients ranging from newborns to adults.

Key Responsibilities Ensure the appropriateness of all medication doses in reference to diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions. Accurately enter and verify medication orders in the pharmacy system. Ensure correct dispensing and timely delivery of medications according to established guidelines. Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards in the preparation of sterile products; complete annual aseptic certification with 90% proficiency. Educate patients, caregivers, and community members regarding medication use and safety. Support patient safety systems and maintain investigational drug records per policy. Conduct discharge medication reviews and counseling to ensure understanding of therapy. Participate in study initiation, maintenance, and closure. Communicate effectively and review all correspondence (email, mailbox, voicemail) each shift. Serve as a role model for pharmacy technicians and colleagues, supporting smooth departmental operations.

Education: Bachelors degree or Pharm.D. in Pharmacy (required)

Licensure: Active and unrestricted RPh license, State of Texas (required)

Experience: Minimum 2 years hospital staff pharmacist experience (preferred) OR 5+ years retail pharmacist experience in a high-volume setting

Additional Training: 20 hours of sterile compounding training accredited by ACPE or ASHP (preferred)
