The Role Overview
This is a full‑time, in‑office Controller position based in southern Maine, reporting directly to the CEO. The role requires a hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and highly organized accounting professional to lead a team and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for the CEO and banking partners.
Oversee and mentor an accounting staff, managing complex journal entries and departmental workflow.
Manage all accounting work papers and coordinate with external auditors for bank and year‑end audits.
Handle various tax and governmental reporting, including personal property tax preparation.
Collaborate with the CEO on insurance renewals and manage all insurance‑related audits.
Lead the implementation and training within the Epicor systems software.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
7-10 years of progressive accounting experience in a Controller-level role.
Hands‑on, detailed, and highly organized work style with the ability to manage changing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Epicor software.
