Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Safety Specialist located in Jacksonville, FL. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to developing, implementing, and monitoring emergency management, fire safety, life safety, and environment of care programs. This includes conducting safety training sessions, investigating accidents, maintaining compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, overseeing occupational health initiatives, and providing recommendations to prevent workplace hazards.
Qualifications
Health & Safety and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) skills
Occupational Health and Safety Training skills
Accident Investigation skills and root cause analysis
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, or related field is preferred
Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus
Certifications such as Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) and Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) are required
