Job Summary Performs a variety of functions assigned by the head coach. Responsibilities include coaching, budget management, recruiting, purchasing equipment and supplies, scheduling games and practices, program public relations, and fundraising. Assists with player development, academic support, national recruitment, and administrative duties while adhering to KSU, NCAA, and conference regulations.
Responsibilities
Assists coaches and coaching staff in all aspects related to the assigned program.
Supports implementation of plans to achieve academic progress, retention, and timely graduation of student-athletes.
Provides leadership and support for department-wide priorities and initiatives.
Organizes, supervises, coordinates, and employs sound coaching techniques and practices.
Participates in university and Department of Athletics events as required.
Prepares student-athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally to compete for Conference Championships and postseason competitions.
Supports a program atmosphere favorable to ethical, academic, and athletic development.
Serves as Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Act.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license.
Two (2) years of relevant coaching experience at a post‑secondary level, professional athlete, tour participant, or related program.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, independent judgment, and organizational skills.
Proficient with computer applications (Microsoft Office, Synergy Sports Tech, FastModel, etc.).
Strong attention to detail, follow‑up skills, customer service, and phone/email etiquette.
Ability to travel and work early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Self‑starter, dependable, punctual, and trustworthy.
