Counter Sales associate , you are the "face of the retail store" and the go-to person for customers entering our retail stores for their automotive needs. You don’t need to be able to tear down and rebuild engines; however, a background and knowledge of automotive parts is important. This opportunity supports a career path with us as a Parts Specialist, or as a stepping stone to explore other roles. What you will be doing

Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions Provide outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who visits the store Maintain a customer-focused, high-energy approach in a fast-paced environment Welcome retail customers and engage to provide a positive shopper experience Operate technology (computer, cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system) This is the right opportunity for you if you

Genuinely enjoy helping customers with auto parts and service questions Have gained parts experience through the automotive industry or by tinkering with/repairing cars and trucks Are willing to learn all things automotive if you don’t have the background Want to join a team where you can learn and grow your career What you’ll need

Valid Driver's License Experience in a parts store or automotive industry or a willingness to learn all things auto parts High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree are a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment Strong listening skills and empathy for customers Nice to have (not a deal breaker)

Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision Knowledge of cataloging or inventory management systems Customer-centric approach (external/internal) ASE Certifications What’s in it for you
