Accounting Lead
at
The Assets , a nonprofit federal contractor dedicated to providing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This role is vital to maintaining accurate, compliant, and efficient financial operations within our Finance Department. Location: Anchorage, AK (On-site). Work hours: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑4:00 pm. Starting pay: $26.15 per hour plus DOE. Responsibilities
Process and record all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately. Prepare and execute checks and ACH payments on a weekly basis. Reconcile vendor and customer statements to ensure timely payments and collections. Maintain accurate coding, documentation, and approvals for all transactions. Manage petty cash, schedule weekly bank deposits, and support audit activities. Maintain vendor data for 1099 reporting and assist with 1099 preparation. Respond promptly to vendor, staff, and management inquiries. Supervise accounting staff in the absence of the Finance Director. Support the Finance Department’s goals and uphold the organization’s mission and values. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; related education or training may substitute for experience. Minimum of two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. Proficient in Excel, Word, and accounting software (Business Central or similar preferred). Strong computer skills, excellent accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Valid Alaska driver’s license and vehicle insurance or reliable transportation. Ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with state regulations. Benefits
