Job Summary
Bongards' Creameries is seeking a Cost Accountant based out of our Chanhassen, MN corporate office. The Cost Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate product costing and inventory accounting for our three manufacturing plants. This position will support plant managers, supervisors, and Controller/CFO with requests for financial information and provide timely information on plant metrics.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze key cost indicators related to changes in commodity values, purchasing variances, and manufacturing variances to support and update accurate standard costs
Maintain manufacturing BOM and review job closings for accuracy
Monitor and report manufacturing costs and metrics, inventory valuation, and cost variances
Research and investigate cost and inventory discrepancies. Reconcile outside warehouse inventory.
Coordinate and perform monthly system roll. Produce month end operations and inventory reports.
Report and communicate weekly operations performance results with corporate and plant management
Maintain integrity of cost accounting and inventory records in company ERP and accounting system
Be key interface for cost information between Sales, R&D, Production, Accounting and Senior Leadership
Assist plants with ERP issues related to manufacturing, inventory, and shipping
Assist with audits and government reporting requirements
Special projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred or an Associate's degree with 2 years Cost Accounting experience
Inventory costing experience in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of manufacturing job costing
Advanced Excel Skills
An understanding of GAAP in relation to inventory
Must possess a high level of integrity
Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively interact with all levels of management
Detail-orientated and analytical
Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines
Ability to work independently on assigned duties
Salary
$75,000-$110,000 annually
