Overview
The Electrician should install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems. Inspect circuit breakers and other electrical components. Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices. Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures. They assist the Operations Manager in maintaining agency property (owned or leased) and facilities. They must adhere to the scheduled repair and preventive maintenance plan to ensure that all common and office areas of the facilities are maintained in an orderly manner. Responsibilities
Make routine repairs to facility and thrift stores daily. Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems. Perform general electrical maintenance. Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components. Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices. Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures. Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations. Circuit breaker corrective maintenance. Good knowledge of various test equipment. Process work order repair requests/equipment needs as directed by supervisor. Apprise supervisor of activities and conditions that may affect facility operations and goals. Participate in continuing education programs for professional growth and skills building. Participate in staff meetings/trainings. Participate in advocacy and direct action to end the twin crises of homelessness and AIDS. Order necessary supplies. Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor and/or senior staff. Benefits
