Job Summary This position is within the Department of Land & Natural Resources, located in Downtown. The role involves handling over‑the‑counter payments, making cash disbursements, assessing interest, fees and penalties, tallying cash, and preparing daily cash reports. The cashier is required to apply relevant laws and regulations for cash collection and disbursements.
Salary & Benefits Salary range: $3,748 to $4,742 per month (SR‑12, Step C to I). Additional benefits include compliance with disability laws and reasonable accommodation procedures.
Responsibilities
Receive over‑the‑counter payments and issue cash disbursements.
Assess interest, fees, and penalties as required.
Tally daily cash and prepare cash reports.
Perform related duties as assigned and ensure compliance with applicable laws, court orders, and regulations.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Legal authorization to work : U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
General experience : Two (2) years involving posting information onto records/forms, reviewing, sorting, and filing records, with arithmetic skills and ability to follow instructions.
Specialized experience : One (1) year of either:
Cashiering experience (excluding retail cashiering that requires bar code scanning).
Work experience reviewing and posting fiscal data to records of fiscal transactions.
Public contact experience : Minimum six (6) months of contact with the public as part of the overall required experience.
Substitutions : Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.
