Job Title Attorney (New York Bar Admitted)
Location Liberty Avenue, Ozone Park, New York.
Pay Range $80,000 to $120,000 USD per annum
Position Overview The Immigration Attorney/Personal Injury Defense Attorney will independently handle personal injury defense matters and immigration law responsibilities, including litigation, legal research, drafting, negotiations, and court appearances. This opportunity is ideal for a solo practitioner or freelance attorney with strong litigation and negotiation skills who wishes to work with a dynamic and growing law firm.
Key Responsibilities
File notice of appearance and manage assigned personal injury defense cases.
Conduct thorough legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents. Handle discovery, depositions, court appearances, and case strategy planning.
Engage in settlement negotiations and represent clients effectively in mediation or trial proceedings.
Advise clients on all aspects of immigration law, including eligibility for visas, green cards, and naturalization.
Prepare and file complex immigration applications, petitions, and legal documents with government agencies (e.g., USCIS).
Represent clients in immigration court for removal proceedings, asylum hearings, and appeals.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal immigration laws, policies, and regulations.
Advocate for clients' rights before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
Qualifications & Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school or equivalent.
Active New York State bar admission.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in personal injury defense litigation.
Proven expertise in drafting, research, case strategy advocacy.
Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
