Position Overview
Duckstein Restoration, since 1971, is a Pittsburgh based construction company specializing in residential and commercial insurance restoration. Disaster restoration has become an increasingly needed service throughout our area as well as the entire country. We are expanding our team and looking for an experienced estimator. This is a great opportunity for someone with construction and hands-on experience in the industry.
The ideal candidate will have experience in multiple aspects of an insurance restoration claim from initial inspection for mitigation services to writing supplements for reconstruction estimates.
This person will be responsible for writing detailed mitigation & reconstruction estimates and creating accurate scopes of work.
This position requires the management and dealing with conflict of the competing needs of many stakeholders including customers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, customer centric, empathetic, and budget conscious. They will be comfortable and skilled at communicating with customers, estimate reviewers and adjusters.
This position is fast paced, challenging and very demanding at times, but when executed properly, the customers’ gratitude for restoring their home after a disaster is very rewarding.
Major Duties & Responsibilities :
Inspect loss site to determine scope of work for mitigation & repairs.
Estimating & uploading mitigation & repairs estimates to TPA programs.
Experience in Xactimate, Mobile claims & MICA is required
Professionally responding to TPA & adjuster requests.
Obtain bids/pricing from subcontractors & suppliers as needed.
Frequent & effective communication with customers
Daily updates of job notes in CRM
Collections
Estimate profitability
Office Administration - updating job notes, department meetings, filing paperwork, etc.
Be a team leader and encourage teammates & employees to perform at their best
Must haves:
Has a valid driver’s license and can pass a background check
Knowledge of insurance restoration (mitigation & reconstruction)
Knowledge of construction materials
Xactimate experience
Claims Connect/mobile claims experience (preferred)
Basic computer skills
Empathy for the customer
Sense of urgency
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Able to work in and help a team succeed
Ability to be firm and confident
Ability to recognize, acknowledge and reward employee success
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Great work ethic
