Summary The
Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel
is located in the famed Deer Valley ski resort, about 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is part of a new development planned to incorporate 17 ski lifts, approximately 1,600 residential units, 8 hotels with a total of approximately 1,350 rooms, roughly 250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the largest “ski beaches” in the world. The Grand Hyatt is comprised of 436 luxury accommodations including 381 guest rooms and 55 residential units with roughly 30,000 square feet of versatile indoor meeting space, a lobby level 3‑meal restaurant and bar, signature bar, pool/après ski bar and grill, coffee bistro, large outdoor event terrace, pool and 3 whirlpools, kids club, and fitness area. Responsibilities The Food Runner is responsible primarily for assisting the Food Server in serving the guest. This person must have good communication skills as well as the ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight. This is a fast‑paced position with continual customer contact.
Expeditor (“Expo”) Duties:
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to the dining area.
Verify that all food items meet the restaurant’s quality standards and presentation specifications before they are sent out.
Organize and manage tickets to ensure that orders are delivered to the correct tables in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure that all orders are correct and complete.
Maintain a clean and organized expo station in each venue, including keeping track of plates, utensils, and condiments. Report any equipment problems, safety hazards, or unsafe practices to supervisor, attend all scheduled employee meetings, and perform other duties as delegated by leadership.
Comprehensive knowledge of menu items and allergens to answer server/guest questions as needed and accurately inform kitchen when allergies arise.
Food Running:
Deliver food orders to the appropriate table.
Assist servers with clearing and resetting tables as needed in both venues.
Address any guest concerns regarding their food promptly and professionally.
Maintaining Cleanliness of Work Areas:
Perform routine cleaning tasks in the kitchen areas including wiping down surfaces, cleaning utensils, and maintaining a sanitary environment.
Ensure all kitchen equipment in each venue is cleaned and stored properly.
Follow all health and safety regulations and standards.
Sweet and mop expo work areas.
Item Management:
Return any items from the dining areas of both venues to their proper locations in the kitchen or storage areas.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or needs to the kitchen or management team.
Assist in organizing and restocking supplies as needed.
All other duties as assigned by leadership.
